How to Recover Lost Photos

Oh No! I lost all of my photos!

images Everyday, people use social media sites to display their best photos for any occasion: Vacation photos, individual achievements, and even common daily life topics. Millions upon millions of photos are uploaded everyday to these sites and countless more to come. However, these photos need to be stored somewhere first: usually a computer. You’re downloading your precious memories from your smartphone and all of a sudden your computer crashes. Or, you are organizing your photos and you realize an important photo, to your life, is missing.

What do you do?

At this moment, you may feel panicked or stressed from losing one or even a whole album of your vital photos. Luckily, there is no need to fear a permanent lost of these photos. Commonly, when photos are deleted, your computer can no longer detect these photos. However, it is unlikely for it to be completely wiped from your storage device such as storage card or disk. Fortunately, out on the Internet, there are data recovery software that can almost guarantee the retrieval of lost photos, which can be purchased at a relatively low price.

What Should I look Out For?

Out on the market, there are a variety of data recovery programs to choose from, however; for our purposes it is highly recommended to purchase software that is specifically designed to recover digital images. Several features are integrated within these software, which the most important being the preview function. More often than not, data recovery software, out on the Internet, tend to falsely identify lost files as digital images, or photos, resulting in false hope for the consumer. With the preview function, it provides access to an image, thus allowing the user to identify and select their choice of photos that have been formerly lost.

To avoid further hassle and stress, specialized photo recovery software are designed to compile and display only photo image file types. In more basic terms, it searches for files that end in .jpg, .png, and any other image files located within the disk. This reduces the list of files dramatically and enhances the chance of locating the needed image file since it reduces clutter by eliminating any junk files.

A software that could be used for data recovery would be Easeus. On the Chrome browser, if you search “image recovery software” on Google the first software presented is the Easeus data recovery software.  Recently, I personally have tested the free trial of this software and it functions as advertised. After emptying my recycle bin, I was able to scan my drive using the Easeus  and it gave me the option to recover the programs/documents even though it emptied out! Like image recovery software, it did include a preview for the files you are viewing. However, from my experience, this software does include other files when it scans your drive, so it may cost you some more time searching for the image, although; it is confirmed that a deleted image can be recovered using this software.

More Discovering For Just Recovering

Modern data recovery software is user friendly, thus allowing anyone to utilize its capabilities. Merely start the program, that you chose, and identify the drive that contained the missing images; if you have no other drive then choose the default C: disk. The software will do the rest by scanning the drive for only photo image files. After finishing, thumbnail images of the content of each file in the list will be displayed. From the list, select the photos you wish to recover, and save them in a secure spot within your hard disk.
